Jarrod was a quirky and rare breed of a man whose influence, intellect, kindness, loyalty and compassion reached far and wide

The center of his world was his law practice and the family law community where he tirelessly fought for justice and good. Jarrod stood up to bullies, protected the vulnerable, spoke up for those who couldn’t and fought the good fight every day of his life – all with compassion and grace. Jarrod represented his clients with conviction and empathy, while always maintaining respect, civility and oftentimes friendship with his adversaries. No matter how hard the case, how little he was paid, how beaten down he may have felt, Jarrod never gave up on his cases and clients and when necessary, saw his case through to trial where he obtained excellent results. 

In addition to being a remarkable attorney, Jarrod was a true Renaissance man. He was an entrepreneur, whiskey connoisseur, and home brewer who was in the process of opening his own distillery. Ever forward-thinking, Jarrod was also developing an innovative app for the family law community and exploring countless business ventures with his signature curiosity and drive.

Jarrod’s love for basketball was unparalleled. He studied the game in depth, memorizing stats and strategies with a passion that turned every conversation into a masterclass. From NBA legends to college standouts, Jarrod could recount pivotal moments with astonishing detail, reflecting his lifelong dedication to the sport. Jarrod’s interests didn’t stop there. He was a wellspring of knowledge in poetry, literature, music, wine, health and fitness, comics, gaming, and more. His ability to speak eloquently on nearly any topic was captivating, effortlessly bridging connections in every circle he joined.

Family was Jarrod’s greatest priority. He raised his two sons with unwavering devotion and stepped in as a father figure to his nephew, who became both a close family member and a lifelong friend. Jarrod and his nephew shared a love of jazz, attending games together and bonding over their shared passion.

Jarrod was a pillar of support for those around him. He selflessly gave his time, energy, and resources to ensure his family and friends were cared for, emotionally and financially. He was the person everyone turned to in times of need, offering comfort and strength without hesitation. For those lucky enough to call him a friend, Jarrod’s loyalty and compassion were constants, creating lifelong bonds that could never be broken. A talented musician, Jarrod played guitar with the skill and soul of a professional. His unique style reflected his eclectic taste, with favorites like Tool and Skinny Puppy showcasing his unconventional spirit. Even small details, like his carefully maintained nails for guitar playing, spoke to his dedication and love for the art.

In every aspect of life, Jarrod shone brightly. Whether captivating a courtroom, entertaining a party, or comforting a loved one, he left a profound impact on everyone he met. Though his passing leaves a void that can never be filled, Jarrod’s extraordinary life, kind heart, and enduring spirit will forever inspire those who loved him.
