At Medura & Maxwell Family Law we guide families through life’s most delicate transitions with clarity, compassion, and strength. Our areas of practice reflect our commitment to protecting what matters most.

When a child is born to parents who are not married, Utah law provides many of the same rights, requirements, and protections for the parents and the child as it does for married couples. When unmarried parents separate, issues such as custody, parent time, and child support must be addressed through a Parentage action (formerly known as a Paternity action).

Although the parents were not married, Parentage cases often involve many of the same complex legal, child-related, and financial challenges as divorce cases. These matters may require custody evaluations, the involvement of mental health professionals, financial experts, or other third-party specialists to ensure that all issues are properly addressed in court.

At Medura and Maxwell Family Law, we have the knowledge, experience, and resources necessary to protect your rights, your child’s best interests, and your financial future throughout the Parentage process, whether your case is straightforward or highly complex.
